Totally Yummy Recipe for Alfredo Sauce
Once you make and try your own Alfredo sauce, chances are you’ll never use store bought again. Yes, it’s that yummy! Try this yummy recipe for Alfredo sauce and see for yourself.
1 TBSP butter
1 garlic clove, medium size, minced or grated
1 TBSP all-purpose flour
1 1/3 cup milk
2 TBSP plain cream cheese spread
1 cup fresh Parmesan cheese, grated
salt and pepper to taste
In saucepan, melt butter over medium low heat. Add garlic, then heat for less than a minute. Add flour. Then, stirring with a whisk constantly, begin drizzling in milk. Continue cooking and whisking until thick, about 5 to 8 minutes. Add the cream cheese and continue cooking for 2 minutes. Add the fresh Parmesan cheese, cooking and stirring until melted and smooth. Salt and pepper to taste.
Serve immediately over freshly cooked fettuccine or cool and pour into a tightly sealed container such as a jar with lid. Store in refrigerator.
NOTE: You can use the packaged sprinkle type Parmesan cheese, but if you want really yummy Alfredo sauce, fresh Parmesan cheese makes for a muchmore yummy recipe.
