Crockpot Beef and Broccoli Recipe

1 lb boneless beef chuck roast, sliced into thin strips
1 cup beef consumme
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/3 cup brown sugar
1 tablespoon sesame oil
3 garlic cloves, minced
2 tablespoons cornstarch
2 tablespoons cooled sauce from the crock pot after being cooked
Fresh broccoli florets (as many as desired)
Hot cooked rice
Rinse the beef chuck roast and then place it into a crockpot. In a bowl, combine the beef consomme, soy sauce, brown sugar, oil, and garlic. Pour this mixture over the beef chuck roast in the crockpot. Cook on LOW for 6-8 hours.
When the 6-8 hours is up, stir 2 tablespoons of cornstarch and 2 tablespoons of the sauce from the crockpot in a cup – stirring until smooth. Add this to the crock pot. Stir well to combine.
Add the fresh broccoli florets to the crockpot. Stir to combine. Recover and cook an additional 30 minutes on HIGH. The sauce will thicken.
In about 30 minutes, check to be sure the broccoli florets are tender. Serve over hot cooked rice.
